June Gemstones

14th June 2018

Pearls are found primarily in the Persian Gulf, Australia, China, Philippines and Indonesia. Throughout history only the richest people could purchase and wear pearls in the 1900's Asia began culturing saltwater pearls which made them much more affordable. Pearls have been associated with innocence, purity, chastity and modesty which made them the gem to be worn by brides. Pearls come in many colors as do all the other gems of June.

Alexandrite was initially discovered in the Emerald mines on the Ural mountains in Russia and where the most brilliant and expensive. These gems change in color from red to green. Nowadays the Alexandrite gems come from East Africa, Brazil and Sri Lanka and generally pale in comparison to the ones from Russia. Alexandrite is a scarce gem which makes them very expensive. These gems are associated with learning, intuition and imagination.

Moonstones are the third gems of June and come from Mt Adular in Switzerland. They look like light floating on water and come in many colors, pinks, peaches, blues, greens, grays and yellow. The finest moonstones come from Sri Lanka but are also found in the US, Madagascar, Myanmar, Australia and India. These gems are very soft and are prone to stress cracking. Moonstones are associated with lunar mysteries and magic. These gems are also associated with fertility. They are also used to treat insomnia and sleepwalking. In 1970 Florida adopted them as their official gemstone.

The most amazing factor of the gems of June is that they change color, just as our June babies are prone to changing moods. If you would like a reading by a June baby then call me. June babies are also known to be sensitive and compassionate and intuitive. Hope to read for you soon.
