I have been providing readings publicly for over 8 years.
What advice would you give to those customers contemplating their first reading?
Select a reader that you are drawn towards and go into the reading with as much as a clear mind as you can. It's good to have questions ready, which I would advise writing these down so you don't forget what you want to ask. A reader should always bring you clarity when asking a question and this includes how they conduct their divination, so do not be afraid to ask them. It's natural to be nervous going into a reading but try to be as relaxed as you can, if this means making yourself a cup of tea and having snacks next to you whilst the reading is being conducted, then so be it. And most of all, be as open minded as you possibly can, as you may come out of a reading with more answers than you wanted.
What prompted you to start giving readings?
My want to help others. I believe my nature is to help others and readings became another form of a way to do this. Spiritual Counselling is an attribute of mine and I feel that I can also combine this to a point within readings.
What spiritual skills do you have?
I walk the tradition in the UK that we call Wisefolk. With this I combine the ability of mediumship skills, divination, communing with land spirits, being green fingered and looking after the land. I would say this encompasses an empathy ability, understanding and the ability to actively listen.
What tools do you use within your readings?
For phone readings, I will be using my tarot cards and can use oracle cards as an added confirmation, as well as using my intuition. If my mediumship ability comes in during a reading, this will be used too.
What’s your most memorable psychic experience?
As part of my hobbies, I attend paranormal investigations, I suppose its wanting to understand the afterlife a little bit more. On one particular investigation, we were visiting an old Gaol in the highlands and I was sat in a cell where children had been imprisoned. I asked out loud "do what brings you comfort" in the efforts that I may capture evidence. Within a few minutes, I was experiencing my hair being stroked and a specific phrase being whispered in my ear but what made this even more interesting is at the same time that phrase was being whispered, it was the same phrase captured on an EVP that was being recorded on the other side on the Goal.
When did you discover your gifts?
My first mediumship encounter, I was 8 and had witnessed a hooded figured outside a lady's house, that lived across from my aunt's one summer evening. I remember running down and telling my aunty but at this time they were strict Baptists and thought my imagination was running away. But I was adamant the neighbour needed to be checked on. I put my wellies on and a jumper and ran out across the cul-de-sac and knocked on her door, no answer. I knew she would be sat in her favourite armchair in the front room with a tin of boiled sweets that she used to always give out to the local children. I was knocking on her window and all of a sudden she was stood next to me, telling me not to panic and that there was no rush. I told my aunty this and at that point, they managed to get into her house. Sadly she had passed away that evening. This memory has stayed with me for life and one that I believe opened me up to the path that I walk today. She was such a gentle old lady and will always be thankful for the kindness she always showed.
Why should a client choose you for their psychic reading?
I like to think that the way I read is a little different to others but that I suppose is easily said! I mix in the message of my cards and my intuition and will talk you through the basics of the cards and what they would represent and how they build the story/narrative of your reading. I will always give a client the opportunity to let me know if information sits with them or not and if it does not sit with them, I will put that to one side and move on. I build a place of safety and non-judgement, to which I like to think our sessions are therapeutic to yourself in some sense. That you leave the reading feeling better and less confused.
What do you do for fun outside of psychic readings?
Gardening is one of my favourite hobbies and I combine this with my passion for herbalism, I am a trained herbalist and will make home-made tinctures, balms and oils. As well as this, I am an avid folklorist and love learning about traditions and history. I like to travel when I can and take in the wonderful locations around our Isles. With this, I occasionally take part in platform talks discussing localised folklore and folkmagic. On a more mundane level, I like spending time with my 2 children, who are into their teens and usually can be found winning against me in bowling! I love to bake and find this therapeutic for myself, baking with love if you will! I find peace with taking my dog out for long walks into the woodlands, esp now that the weather is getting warmer.
Are you typical of your star sign? If so, how?
As an Aries, I want to say yes but on a mature level to this starsign, however I encompass my Moon sign as a Taurus more and my rising as a Cancer. Although I can be strong headed and fearless but then for an Aries fearless can be slightly ignorance at times! I am a loyal friend, hard working and as the first sign in the chart, I do like to take the lead.
